Town & Social 8 buildings

The Town Hub

Leave your home island through the Town Gate and you step into the Town — a walkable, top-down village that all Zenko players share. A central fountain plaza is ringed by eight destinations; cobble walkways and lamp posts lead to each door. Tap a building to open its panel, and tap another trainer to open their mini-profile.

The Town is where Zenko becomes a multiplayer game. Other players walk the same plaza in real time, wearing their own cosmetics, trailed by their companion creature. You can chat, wave, visit each other's islands, and add friends. Everything social is asynchronous: nothing you do requires another player to be online at the same moment.

ONE TRAINER, TWO WORLDS

Your avatar exists in two "worlds" that share the same iso grid and controls: your private home island (place creatures & decor, run dungeons, forge) and the shared Town. Your equipped cosmetics and companion creature follow you into both.

The Buildings Plaza ring

Eight structures surround the fountain. The four "corner" buildings are the classic activity hubs; the plaza points add the Hall of Fame, Gachaponz, Zothebyz, and Geo's Gem Stall.

BuildingWhat it isDetails
AFK Zone Park your trainer by the campfire to bank a boosted Gold bonus while you're away. Accrues 150% of your hourly Gold rate (a +50% boost), capped at 8 hours. Resting also recovers Stamina at 1 / min — double the passive rate.
Casino Gem-fuelled games of chance — coin flip, slots & more. See Casino & Zothebyz for the full odds tables.
PVP Arena Real-time 5-v-5 Gladiator duels on a seasonal ladder (Season 1 live). The reigning #1 wears a red champion aura + crown in Town. See Combat & PvP.
Raid Boss Co-op boss encounters (community feature). Shares the raid cinematic + reward flow with Dungeons & Raids.
Hall of Fame The global, cross-server leaderboards. Five ranked boards, top 50 each (see below).
Gachaponz $ZOLANA / Gem capsule-gacha machine — cosmetics, relics, materials, gold. Full drop rates below.
Zothebyz The auction & raffle house — sell rare assets or run a raffle. $ZOLANA + Gem lots, DB-escrowed. See Casino & Zothebyz.
Geo's Gem Stall A daily rotating gem-only store run by the NPC Geo. 3–5 offers per UTC day, deterministically seeded from the date — everyone sees the same stall, and each offer is a one-per-day buy.
GEMS ARE SCARCE — GOLD IS ABUNDANT

Under the shipped 2026 economy, Gems are a scarce currency. Because of that, every price at Geo's Gem Stall is deliberately low. Gold, by contrast, is the abundant dungeon/AFK grind currency — the AFK Zone and dungeons are where you earn it.

Zolana Gachaponz Full Drop Rates

The capsule machine on the plaza. Pay in $ZOLANA (charged at the live rate) or Gems. Every pull rolls 5 independent slots — each slot is its own reward, so one pull can mix materials, gold, a relic and (rarely) a cosmetic.

THE ULTRA-RARE CHASE

The Shadow Aura (MYTHICAL) is the only aura in the machine — the razor-thin Mythical tier is effectively its chance (~0.01% per slot Standard, ~0.04% Deluxe). Within LEGENDARY, the Royal Robe and Jeweled Crown are weighted ~8× rarer than the other Legendaries — some of the rarest items in the game.

The gacha is a $ZOLANA sink that faucets soft rewards. It never drops Gem Catalyst (the gem-gate material), so it can't loosen premium-gem scarcity. Cosmetic dupes drop a second tradeable copy into your bag.

Resting, AFK & Stamina 2026 economy

Stamina gates how many dungeon runs you can make. The current tuning keeps it fast and generous so it rarely blocks play. You spend it on runs and it regenerates on its own; resting at the AFK Zone speeds that up, and if you're in a hurry you can pay to top off instantly.

The instant refill fills the whole bar for a flat 150 $ZOLANA no matter how empty it is; the paid $ZOLANA goes to the treasury and is burned. You can also tap the Stamina meter in the HUD to open the recharge options directly.

Hall of Fame — Leaderboards 5 boards · top 50

The Hall of Fame ranks every trainer across all servers on five separate boards. Each board shows the top 50, plus your own rank even when you're off the list. Boards are aggregated from a single scan and served from a snapshot (refreshed off the request path), so switching tabs is instant.

BoardRanks by
PowerTotal combat power across your collection.
IdleYour hourly idle Gold rate (income output).
CollectionBreadth & depth of your creature collection.
LevelAccount / creature level progress.
PvPRanked arena standing (seasonal Gladiator ladder).

Tap any name on a board to open that trainer's mini-profile — from there you can visit their island or send a friend request (Wave is offered only for players who are currently online in Town).

The Social Graph Async

Friends

Friendships are mutual: you send a request, the other trainer accepts. You can add someone by their wallet address or username. If you request a player who has already requested you, the request auto-accepts and you both become friends instantly. Your friends list separates accepted friends, incoming requests to you, and your outgoing pending requests.

Visiting Bases & Likes

Every island is publicly viewable — friends are just the easiest discovery path. Visiting loads a read-only snapshot of another trainer's island exactly as they see it: their placed creatures (including ones out on a raid), their decor, and their equipped avatar cosmetics. While visiting you can leave a Like. Likes are toggleable (one per visitor) and the total shows on the base.

The Companion Creature

Pick one creature to be your companion — it follows your avatar everywhere, on your island and around Town. Only one at a time; you can clear it or swap it whenever you like. Because the companion travels in your presence data, other trainers see your pet trotting behind you in real time.

Chat, Speech Bubbles & Emotes Realtime

A persistent chat box lives in the lower-left corner of the world view — always on, collapsible to a slim bar with an unread badge. It has two tabs:

  • SERVER — the chat for your current server shard. Everyone on your shard sees these lines in the log.
  • GLOBAL — a cross-shard chat shared by everyone online, with a live headcount next to the tab.

Messages appear instantly for everyone in the room, and a durable history backfills your scrollback when you open a tab. Each message is capped at 300 characters.

Proximity speech bubbles

When you're walking Town, a SERVER message also pops as a floating speech bubble above the sender's avatar — but only if they're near you. The bubble range is a 10-cell radius. Note the split: the chat log always shows every shard message (a log you can silently filter isn't a log), while the floating bubble is the part that's gated by distance.

Emotes & waving

Tap another trainer and hit Wave to send a live emote. Emotes fan out to everyone in the room (including you, so you see your own wave), and appear as a transient bubble over the avatar.

TAP A TRAINER → MINI-PROFILE

Tapping any avatar in Town opens their mini-profile card: their name, level and power, plus three actions — Visit Base, Add Friend, and Wave. The same card opens from a leaderboard row (minus Wave, since they may be offline).

How Realtime Works Cloudflare DO

Town multiplayer runs on Cloudflare Durable Objects (via the partyserver library). Each server shard is one Durable Object "room" — it holds only ephemeral realtime state (who's connected, avatar positions, and live chat/emote fan-out). Nothing persistent lives there; the game database stays the source of truth. A room fans out messages in-process rather than metering every delivery, so a single shard can hold far more players than the old presence system could.

Every logged-in trainer keeps two connections:

  • the SERVER room (room id = your server) — presence, avatar positions, and SERVER chat.
  • the shared "world" room — GLOBAL chat plus the live online count.

IdentitysignedPresence carries a signed-session proof; an unproven wallet is shown as anonymous, so you can't impersonate another account in Town.

Because fan-out happens inside the room, chat works even when you're back on your home island — only avatar positions are gated to when you're actually walking the Town.
